KARACHI, Dec 21: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s chief Altaf Hussain has said that MQM recognises all religious, ethnic and cultural entities and their rights, and has invited them to unite under the banner of the MQM to protect their rights.

Mr Hussain was addressing on phone from London to the participants of a function organised by Khidmat-i- Khalq Foundation to distribute gifts among the Christian community with the cooperation of the “SUN,” a welfare organisation in Britain.

He said the MQM was the only party in Pakistan founded by the middle class and poor sections of society, and which not only recognised all religious, ethnic and cultural entities but considered them equal citizens without any discrimination of cast, colour and creed.

He said the MQM was the only party which, after the Sept 11 tragedy, came out with the statement that individuals, families and worship places of religious minorities must not be damaged, and that MQM worker were prepared to protect them.
