KARACHI: The remains of singer-turned-televangelist Junaid Jamshed arrived here on Wednesday from Islamabad on board a C-130 plane.

“Along with the body, his elder brother Humayun Jamshed and some close family members and friends arrived here,” a family member said.

“Arrangements for the funeral prayers have been made at Moin Khan Cricket Academy in DHA Phase-VIII. The family has set the time of 1pm for people who want to attend the prayers. It’s not yet confirmed but Maulana Tariq Jameel is expected to lead the funeral prayers.”

After the prayers, the family member said, he would be laid to rest at Jamia Darul Uloom Karachi in the Korangi Industrial Area.
