Iftikhar’s 7 wickets sinks KPT

KARACHI, Dec 18: Skipper Rao Iftikhar Anjum claimed seven for 94 as Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) easily defeated debutants Karachi Port Trust (KPT) by nine wickets in the Patron’s Trophy Pool ‘B’ match at Arbab Niaz Stadium in Peshawar on Thursday.

KPT, resuming their second innings at 162 for four, were bowled out for 322 after lunch. Atif Ali Zaidi, who made 70 in the first innings, fell two short of his maiden first-class century. The left-hander slammed 16 boundaries while adding 122 for the fifth wicket with captain Maisam Hasnain (46).

Needing 51 for victory, ZTBL lost the wicket of Adnan Akmal in reaching their target 17 minutes before the scheduled tea interval on the final day.
