PESHAWAR: The third edition of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Handicap Twenty20 cricket tournament will commence from Jan 15, 2017at the Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium.

This was stated by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Handicap Cricket Association secretary general Syed Jaffar Shah while talking to media persons here on Saturday.

Jaffar who is also a coach in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Directorate of Sports disclosed that a total of eight teams would take part from all seven regions including Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, Kohat, Mardan, Swat, Hazara and hosts Peshawar.

Four teams of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be selected from the seven regions while four will be taking part from Fata, maintained the secretary general.

He said preparation for the smooth conduct of the tournament has already been kicked off, adding attractive trophies and cash prizes would also be given to the winners, runners-up and third position team only to encourage special players to come up and participate in sports activities.

Jaffar said Olympian Nasullah Khan, who represented Pakistan in the Athens Paralympics, has been nominated as tournament director.
