KARACHI: Samjhota talks

Published December 19, 2003

KARACHI, Dec 18: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement has strongly criticized exclusion of the subject of reopening Khokhrapar-Monabao route from the agenda of talks with India on the restoration of Samjhota Express.

In a statement issued here on Thursday, MQM MNAs were expressed their resentment over the statement of Iqbal Khatri, leader of the Pakistan delegation, that the subject was not on the agenda.

They appealed to President Musharraf and Prime Minister Zafarullah Jamali to include the subject in the agenda.

They pointed out that the reopening of Khokhrapar route was a longstanding demand by the people of Sindh because it would facilitate travel by a vast majority of the people on both sides of the divide.
