Mohammad Asghar will join the Test squad in the upcoming series against Australia as the 17th member after leg spinner Yasir Shah suffered a back injury during a practice session earlier this week.
Pakistan Cricket Board sources told DawnNews that team management asked the selection committee to call Asghar as a backup in the three-Test series against the Aussies.
The national selection committee agreed to process the request and Chairman PCB Shaharyar Khan approved the choice, according to PCB sources.
The Test series will commence from December 15, 2016, at the Gabba Stadium in Brisbane.

Sir
A left arm spinner is added as a replacement to cover injury to a leg spinner???
Why not another leg spinner is added. Mickey Arthur seems to have lost the plot, big time!!!

Excellent decision by the PCB administration since investing in young talent and providing the right kind of opportunity to budding players at the highest level in cricket always pays big dividends.

Great decision by Mickey to give youngster a chance to play in Australia. This will let him get a feel of international pitches and quality Cricket.

Proper Leg Spinner or Off spinner should be called in place of Asghar, as he is similar bowler to Nawaz, who is already in the squad. Wrong decision from Micky Arthur and Co
