Shaukat on goal spree

LAHORE, Dec 17: Three matches were decided on the opening  day of Dimal Polo Cup-2003 at the LPC Grounds on Wednesday.

A last-gasp goal by Shaukat enabled Travel Quest to beat Mobilink  8-7. Shaukat scored five goals  for  the winners. Azhar Ali slammed in three remaining goals.

For  the losers, Ahmed Khan contributed four goals while  Sufi Amir added three.

Free Lancers beat Shalimar in another well contested match  4 1/2-3. Mujahid Umar and Khurshid scored two goals apiece for the winners while half was the handicap. Atif Tiwana (2) and Mohsin Atta Khosa (1) reduced the margin for the losers.

Data Hybrid Corn beat Classic Water 11-8. Isfandyar Pattaudi scored six goals for the winners while Adnan Abbasi (2), Omar Sadik (2) and Jamal Iftikhar (1) were other scorers.

For the losing side, Irfan

Ali Hyder banged home five goals and Azam Hayat Noon a goal. Two goals were the handicap.
