QUETTA: A tehsildar, Khalil Ahmed, was electrocuted while trying to start a heavy generator in Turbat on Sunday.

According to sources the tehsildar, settlement, of Turbat died on the spot after suffering a severe electric shock. His funeral was held in Turbat, which was attended by the division and district administration officials.

Makran division has been without electricity supply for the past four days.

The supply from Iranian Baluchestan has been suspended for upgrading the transmission line and installing more powerful pole-mounted transformers to increase the supply from the existing 70 megawatts to 100MW.

According to officials of the Quetta Electric Supply Company, the heavy transformers are being installed in the Janjor area of Iran.
