Three of a family killed on road

FAISALABAD, Dec 17: Three women of a family were killed while six others sustained injuries when their wagon overturned on Motorway here on Tuesday night.

The wagon was carrying some family members of trader Mian Ashfaq Ahmed when fatal accident occurred due to overspeeding.

Sharifan, Khurshid and Safia died instantly while Shahnaz, Ashfaq, Razzaq, Haneef, Asghar and Rauf sustained injuries. They were taken to the Allied Hospital where their condition was stated to be out of danger.

THREE KILLED: Three people, including a highwayman, was killed in two dacoity incidents in the district on Tuesday night.

The first incident occurred in Tarkhani village, about 45kms from here, where two masked bandits travelling in a bus (LHC-6775) whipped out their weapons and tried to loot passengers. Reacting immediately, guard Ashraf shot dead one of the robbers instantly.

In the meantime, the other robbers opened fire, killing

the guard and injuring conductor seriously. Later, the

outlaws had the bus stopped and beat a retreat while leaving behind the body of their accomplice.

A gang of armed bandits shot dead housewife Shahida Bibi on resistance during a dacoity in Chak 215-RB in the Sadar police station area. The outlaws fled after looting thousands of rupees in cash and other valuables.

The police have yet to find the whereabouts of outlaws involved in both the incidents.
