Four die on road in Abbottabad

PESHAWAR: Four persons died and six others sustained injuries when a speeding truck fell into a deep ravine in Abbottabad district in the wee hours on Friday.

A district police spokesman said the accident occurred on Abbottabad-Sherwan Road near Pind Kargo Khan village. They said the driver lost control over the steering while negotiating a sharp turn, plunging the vehicle into deep ditch. Four persons were killed on the spot, while six sustained wounds who were later hospitalised.

The identity of the victims could not be immediately ascertained. Police and local residents participated in the relief and rescue operation.
