ISLAMABAD: The competent authority has approved the promotion of PA-19617 Lt Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa, HI (M), Inf, to the rank of general and appointed him as chief of the army staff with effect from Nov 29, said a notification No.3/11/D-2(A- II)/2016-B, dated 26.11.2016, received from the ministry of defence, Rawalpindi.
