Ijaz hammers superb century

RAWALPINDI, Dec 16: Ijaz Ahmed Jr stroked an unbeaten 106 on Tuesday to power Allied Bank to 216 on a shortened second day of the Patron’s Trophy Pool ‘B’ match against Habib Bank at KRL Stadium.

There had been no play on the opening day of the match on Monday because of rain the day before. The proceedings eventually got under way half an hour before lunch on day two of four.

Ijaz played a flawless innings after Habib Bank had won the toss and asked their rivals to bat first. He struck nine fours and three sixes in his 143-ball innings.

Kabir Khan took four wickets for 33 runs while Sajid Shah picked up two.
