Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Minister Ali Amin Gandapur was granted interim bail in the ongoing case of allegedly carrying alcohol and unlicensed weapons during PTI's earlier sit-in call.

A sessions court in Islamabad granted Gandapur interim bail till December 2.

The court also summoned police officials in the next scheduled hearing of the case.

Gandapur, while speaking to DawnNews, said he has to attend important meetings, hence he has filed for an interim bail in the case.

"I was carrying licensed weapons, and that will be proven in the court soon," the minister said.

In October, Islamabad police claimed that they recovered five Kalashnikov assault rifles, a pistol, six magazines, a bulletproof vest, alcohol and three tear gas shells from the car of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader outside Bani Gala.

The PTI leader has rejected police claims, saying he was traveling with two licensed Kalashnikov rifles, and that there was an arms license present in the car.

He also claimed that he had been carrying honey in the liquor bottle which was confiscated by the police officials.
