A sessions court in Islamabad charged a police official with raping his daughter, handing him a life sentence and fining him Rs100,000 for the offence on Thursday.
The Islamabad police official, is a resident of Khanna Dak, an area on the outskirts of Islamabad. He first raped his daughter in 2011 when she was a minor.
Now 19-years-old, the daughter said her father continued to rape her for the next four years. She said she had confided in her mother when the abuse first occurred, but to no avail.
She then turned to her father's younger brother, "but nobody listened to me," she said.
The girl then approached the court and filed a case against her parent.
Amir Nadeem Tabish, the plaintiff's lawyer, submitted video evidence against the police officer in light of which the court sentenced the man to life in prison.
If the man fails to pay the fine, he will spend an additional six months in jail.

What a brave and intelligent girl. Brave bcx she actually dared to go to the courts and that too against his own father. And intelligent bcz she knew Pakistan rotten judicial system and provided video evidence. We need more brave girls like these.
And just life sentence ? This guy should be dealt with much harsher punishment.

Climax of barbarism . A father raping his own daughter , while he is the spontaneous custodian and caretaker of his children . A strong legitimate action should be taken against him , turning a blind eye towards the intensity and gravity of the offense means encouraging more devils to produce harm to the society . A ransom of RS.100,000 is nothing , not even a bit of punishment ; it is tantamount to impunity , making an offense an no punishment , deplorable .

it is the responsibility of the state, mother, and uncle(s). Why only the offender ? They are all guilty and deserve the same punishment. I am surprised the court decision is not fair, and this poor girl not only need full justice and those who knew about it and did nothing should also be charged, Also civil society should come forward to help this poor sister of ours to ensure she is psychologically okay. what heinous crime committed by a man who supposed to protect her. If this guy raped his own daughter for 4 years, how many more he would have abused being in police force! What is solution of this savage state of mind prevalent in this part of the world? You cannot go on hanging people. When one commits such crime, they do not think of punishment as mind comes down to animal state. I guess high quality and real education is required right from start.

Of CPC shows life imprisonment means 25 years but in practice it's accumulated to around 7 to 8 years substantive period after getting remissions from time to time and such remissions are offered by the president under article 54 of CPC. Is this girl getting help from a psychologist? Is she still with her mother and her uncle who are angry with her for 'bringing shame' and losing her husband. You would be surprised but this is common reaction from mothers in these situations. I hope there is someone professional and family is supporting her
