KARACHI, Jan 1: A man shot his wife to death in Saeedabad.

Police said Amanullah, aged 45, shot his wife Bano, aged 30, to death outside their home in Gulshan-i-Ghazi, Saeedabad.

The woman was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where she died, sources at the hospital said. A medicolegal officer said the bullet had pierced through the woman’s temple.

Police said Bano’s first husband, Sulaiman, aged 40, a fisherman, had been arrested by the Indian authorities during a fishing trip more than a year ago.

Recently, he was released along with the other fishermen. When he returned home he found out that his wife had married Amanullah. Police said Amanullah and Bano might have developed differences following the return of Bano’s first husband.

Amanullah was absconding after killing his wife, police said.

ACCIDENT: An unidentified man died in a road accident on I. I. Chundrigar Road on late Monday night.

Police said the unidentified man was run over by an unknown vehicle near the under-construction building of MCB Tower on the main I. I. Chundrigar Road.

The body was sent to Civil Hospital for post-mortem. Later, it was sent to the Edhi’s morgue where it has been kept for identification.

Police said the dead man looked like a beggar by his appearance.

FOUND DEAD: The body of an elderly man was found in Site area. Police said the body was several days old, and it was recovered from behind a factory.

The body was sent to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem, where the report has been reserved till the receipt of the histopathological and chemical report.

The victim was identified as Mohammed Hashim, aged 65, sources at the hospital said adding that the body could hardly be recognized.
