LARKANA: The Sindh High Court’s Larkana circuit bench on Thursday asked the Larkana SSP to get the advertisement about 40 stolen Moenjodaro artefacts published in two ‘leading’ Urdu newspapers, observing that the ads published recently in certain low-circulation papers did not serve the purpose.

The bench comprising Justice Zaffar Ahmed Rajput and Justice Muhammed Iqbal Kalhoro was seized with a petition filed by Advocate Afzal Jagirani.

The SSP informed the bench that the ad was got published in two Sindhi and two Urdu dailies. The bench asked the SSP to get it published in dailies Jang and Express.

When the case came up for hearing, the mukhtiarkar concerned submitted in court that the earlier order issued by the bench was complied with as the crop cultivated and stocked on 10.36 acres of encroached upon land of Moejodaro was taken into custody.

The produce, he stated, was disposed of with the consent of the members of the committee constituted by court. A sum of Rs178,236 earned from the sale would be deposited with the accountant of court, he added.

The bench was further informed that the crop standing over 16 acres was being thrashing at the moment and would be disposed of in the same manner.

It was informed that demolishing of the structures illegally raised over the land of Moenjodaro near Imam Bukhsh Malah village was in progress.
