PESHAWAR, Dec 15: The Frontier Constabulary (FC) seized a large quantity of fake Pakistani currency notes and arrested a smuggler at Sangu checkpoint in Pishtakhara here on Monday.

An FC team during a routine checking of vehicles coming from Bara in the Khyber Agency stopped Mohammad Qadeer, son of Shahnawaz, a resident of Rawalpindi, and seized 9,800 fake Pakistani currency notes of 10 denomination.

Separately, the West-Cantt police station also arrested Adnan, son of Fazle Manan, a resident of Hazarkhwani, on Saddar Road and recovered 100 fake Pakistani currency notes of 10 denomination.

HELD: Kabuli police on Monday arrested manager of a local cinema Habib-ur-Rehman, son of Ghulam Hussain, on charges of displaying pornographic movies at the cinema house.

CARS LIFTED: A car NoLRK-1331 owned by Abdus Sattar was stolen by some unidentified men from the Wapda office at Bilal Town in Hashtnagri on Monday. Separately, a car No Peshawar-H 2662 of Sardaraz, son of Kabir Khan, was stolen from his residence in Phase-IV, Hayatabad Township.

HURT: Yar Khan, a residence of Daudzai, was injured by a stray bullet when he was on his way home by foot in Safdar Qala area near his home. Shahi Rahman, son of Bahadar Khan, also received stray bullet injuries in Mashukhel area in the limits of Badhber Police Station.

OPERATIONS: The city police has arrested 15 proclaimed offenders and seized a huge quantity of arms and drugs during operations in the cantonment division here, PPI adds.

SP Cantonment Circle Edris Khan told reporters here on Monday that the operations were launched in the division including Pishtakhara, Hayatabad, University Town, Nasirbagh, West Cantonment and East Cantonment.

He said that a big contingent of police was deployed to nab those wanted by the police for their involvement in heinous crimes.

Mr Khan said those 15 arrested during the operations were wanted for murders, attempted murders, dacoities, robberies and attacks on police.
