HYDERABAD, Jan 1: The director admissions, University of Sindh, has notified first merit list of the selected candidates for admission in the masters degree programme here on Tuesday.

He said that the list had also been displayed on the notice boards of the Sindh University Model School, old campus, here, and administration building of the university at Jamshoro. It can also be seen on the website of the university (www.usindh.edu.pk).

He added that objections against any admission could be submitted up to Jan 4 by the candidates.

The final list of the selected candidates would be announced on Jan 5 and they would pay admission fee from Jan 7 to 14.

FINE ARTS: The chairman, department of Fine Arts, University of Sindh, has announced on Tuesday that the aptitude test for admissions in B.A part-I for the academic session 2002 would be conducted on Jan 7 at 9:30 am at the department.

He said that test calls had already been dispatched to the concerned candidates who could contact the chairman of the department for any further information.

TRAINING: The vice chancellor, University of Sindh, Mr Mazharul Haq Siddiqui has said that for the modernization of the university, facilities would be provided for proper training of teachers.

He was speaking at the inaugural session of two-week refresher course on management and computer skills for teachers and administration personnel organized by the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science (IMCS), University of Sindh, on Tuesday.

The VC said that the training to faculty members and officials was a part of process towards computerization of the record and academic activities of the university.

He also announced that a loan of Rs24,000 free of any mark-up would be given to every faculty for purchasing computer.

ANTHRAX: Hyderabad District Nazim Dr Makhdoom Rafiquzzaman has called upon the people to take precautionary measures against anthrax.

In a statement issued here on Tuesday, he said that the people must take precautions before opening any envelop received through post.
