Emergency declared in Sindh

KARACHI, Dec 14: Orders for enforcement of emergency were issued on Sunday in Sindh to prevent disturbance and subversive activities in view of the Chaklala bomb blast and arrest of former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein.

The orders were issued by Adviser to Chief Minister on Home Affairs Aftab Ahmad Shaikh.

Mr Shaikh directed the additional chief Secretary (Home) Syed Anwar Ahmad and IG Police Syed Kamal Shah to cancel leaves of all police personnel and direct them to resume their duties besides imposing a ban on leaves till further orders.
