NAWABSHAH: A pre-entry test for admission to the Peoples University of Medical and Health Sciences for Women, Shaheed Benazirabad, was held at Bilawal Sports Stadium in Nawabshah on Sunday.

The university has offered 350 seats — 250 for the MBBS, 50 for physiotherapy and as many for pharmaceutical science courses.

PUMHS vice chancellor Dr Azam Hussain Yousfani and pro-VC Prof Dr Shamsuddin Shaikh told reporters that a total of 6,139 applications were received and 78 of them were rejected.

Out of the 6,061 candidates who qualified for the test, 5,753 were present while 308 could not appear in the test, conducted by the National Testing Service. The results would be announced on the PUMHS website sometime in the evening, it was stated.Heavy deployment of police personnel was witnessed for the safety and security of the visitors to the test venue.
