PESHAWAR: The Peshawar Electric Supply Company has approved creation of several new divisions, subdivisions, and two new circles.

The decisions were taken at the 112th meeting of the board of directors of the power company presided over by its chairman Malik Asad Khan here on Monday, according to a statement.

The meeting decided to create seven new subdivisions in Peshawar circle by bifurcating old subdivisions, including Nishtarabad, Wazir Bagh, Lala, Gulbahar, Utmanzai, Shabqadar and Gulbela.

Similarly, nine new subdivisions were created in Mardan circle by bifurcating, and in some cases, trifurcating Chota Lahor, Zaida, Tordher, Murghuz, Topi, Gadoon, Kalabat, Razaar, Bamkhel, Karnal Sher Khan and Khado Khel subdivisions.

Decisions were also taken regarding bifurcation of existing Mardan-II division and creation of new Takhtbai division along with office of assistant manager (revenue); bifurcation of Swabi-1 division and creation of Razar division, bifurcation of existing Swabi-II division and creation of new Topi division along with office of assistant manager (revenue); creation of Kohat rural division by bifurcating Kohat division.

Additionally, creation of new Swabi circle along with all posts, including deputy commercial manager, deputy director M&T, deputy director technical, and other supporting staff, was also made. The existing Mardan circle was also bifurcated into two

The BoD also approved upgradation of line, ministerial and drawing staff and grant of BPS-17 to senior superintendents; revision of ministerial staff yardstick, purchase of vehicles for officers and field staff from scrap money.
