Farid acting JUP chief

Published December 12, 2003

LAHORE, Dec 11: Professor Shah Farid ul Haq will act as JUP chief till the appointment of a new party head, according to JUP’s general-secretary K.M. Azhar.

Terming the demise of Maulana Noorani a great loss, he said it would be difficult for the JUP to absorb this shock as the Maulana was the best mind among Pakistan’s moderate religious leaders.

He said the MMA would greatly miss Maulana Noorani in the future rounds of its political movement.—APP
