HYDERABAD: Veteran politician and well-known agriculturalist Syed Qamaruzzaman Shah, who died in Karachi on Sunday, was laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard at Maqbaro Sharif in Tando Mohammed Khan on Monday.

His funeral prayers were held outside his residence in Latifabad Unit-2 and attended by many prominent political and religious figures including Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, former CM Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani, Adviser to the CM on Information Maula Bux Chandio, Senior Minister for Food Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, provincial ministers Jam Khan Shoro and Imdad Ali Pitafi and Mir Hazar Khan Bijrani, besides the deceased politician’s three sons — MNA Syed Naveed Qamar, Dr Nadeem Qamar and Miran Mohammad Shah — and a large number of Pakistan Peoples Party activists and supporters, government officials and people from all walks of life.

The coffin was taken to the Maqbaro Sharif graveyard in a procession for burial.
