KHAIRPUR, Dec 11: A joint meeting of Nazims and members of the Awam Dost Panel and the Khairpur Dost Panel was held here at the office of the district police officer on Thursday.

DPO Fateh Sher Joyo briefed journalists after the meeting and said that eight committees comprising members and Nazims from the ADP and the KDP had been set up to investigate the water theft complaints before formal registration of cases and added that they would also work towards checking water theft in the eight talukas of the district.

The Khairpur taluka committee comprised Sher Ali Detho, Amjad Ali Shah (ADP), Mohammad Dinal Phulpoto and Nasrullah Shah (KDP) while Khadim Ali Shah, Abdul Ghafoor Shaikh (ADP), Khadim Mirani, Syed Sadiq Shah (KDP) were named for Kingri taluka.

Dur Mohammad Tumrani, Lala Dino Suhag (ADP), Allah Dino Buriro and Khal Mohammad Bugti (KDP) were nominated for Kot Diji taluka while Syed Bachal Shah, Syed Ali Hyder Shah (ADP), Abdul Latif Khuhro, Akhtar Hussain Kalhoro (KDP) were named for Gambat taluka.

For Sobhodero taluka, Mumtaz Hussain Sehto, Haji Tahir Hussain Khuhro (ADP), Sikandar Channa and Aijaz Ahmed Bughio (KDP) were named while Faiz Mohammad Siyal, Dr Ahmed Ali Kubar (ADP), Pir Mashooq Shah Jilani and Raza Mohammad Shar (KDP) were named for Thari Mirwah taluka.

The Faiz Ganj taluka committee comprised Fakir Nazeer Hisbani, Syed Jial Shah (ADP), Akram Hussain Rajpar and Manzoor Ahmed Shar (KDP) and for Nara taluka, Sufi Qalib Ali and Imam Dino Bhambhro (KDP) were nominated while names from the ADP would be announced later.

However, officials from the police and the irrigation departments would also be nominated as members of the committees.

A committee had also been set up at the district level comprising the DPO, the district coordination officer, Rizwan Memon, and two members from both the panels.

Meanwhile, District Nazim Nafisa Shah, the DPO and the DCO held a meeting at the DCO house and agreed on close cooperation for running the affairs of the district.

DIARRHOEA: Six children have died of diarrhoea during the past week in the Moreo village, Sobhodero taluka.

The villagers said that 20 children were infected with the disease and also demanded medical teams to check the spread of the disease.

Those who died included Sardaran and Kulsoom, 2. Names of the others could not be ascertained.
