KARACHI, Dec 11: The imam of Masjid-i-Aqsa and vice chancellor of Gaza University, Al-Sheikh Mohammad Al-Sayyam, said on Thursday that Israel was not only the enemy of Palestinian Muslims but also a foe of the whole Muslim Ummah.

“Israel supports all anti-Muslim forces as it is providing military and political assistance to India against Pakistan,” he said at a reception hosted in his honour by a businessman, Aqil Karim Dhedi.

The reception was also attended by leaders of religious and political parties, Ulema, traders, lawyers and teachers.

Sheikh Al-Sayyam observed that Kashmir and Palestine were the problems of all the Muslims.

“Every Muslim has a relation to Masjid-i-Aqsa and, therefore, everyone must join in the struggle for ending its occupation by Israel.”

He said Pakistan must not recognise Israel because its attitude towards the country was also hostile and it was making military agreements with India against Pakistan.

The religious scholar said the Palestinian Muslims fully supported the right to self-determination of the Kashmiris. He also recited his verses composed on the freedom struggle of Kashmiris. — PPI
