GUJRANWALA, Dec 11: Iran will import 4,000 tons Basmati rice from Pakistan.

This was stated by Iranian trade delegation chief Ghulam Hasan Hilami while talking to members of the local chamber of commerce and industry here on Thursday. The eight-member Iranian delegation visited the chamber and discussed trade with local manufacturers and industrialists.

The leader of the delegation said the Iranian government had approved $300 million import plan and allowed Iranian traders to import 4,000 tons of Basmati rice from Pakistan.

The delegation members also showed keen interest in quality products being manufactured in the city and hinted they may import these products.

They said Pakistan and Iran should prefer bilateral trade and promotion of trade and industry.
