SHIKARPUR, Dec 9: The secretary general, Jamiat-i-Ulema-i-Islam (F), Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Hyderi, has accused army generals of usurping the constitutional and democratic rights of the people of Pakistan in order to rule without any justification through imposing martial law.

He said this while talking to newsmen here on Monday.

He alleged that the army generals had failed to fulfil the responsibilities entrusted to them by the state to defend the country and its territories for which they were receiving salaries from the national exchequer.

He said that the JUI-F believed in supremacy of law and wanted that constitutional provision be fully restored and implemented as it was not wise to violate the Constitution and damage democratic values to meet personal motives.
