KARACHI, Dec 9: About 40 green buses, on three new routes, have started plying in the city, while another 15 would join the fleet soon, a city government press release said.

The buses have been introduced in two phases since Dec 7. City Nazim Naimatullah Khan would formally inaugurate the service on newly designed routes, of which, two would terminate at Tower, while one at Seaview, after his return from foreign trip.

The bus routes are: Malir cantt to Seaview, via Model Colony, Malir Halt, FTC, Sharea Faisal, Cantt Station, Clifton (Three Swords), Schon roundabout; Malir cantt to Tower, via Safoora Goth, University Road, Samama Centre, Jauher Chowrangi, Rashid Minhas road, Nipa Chowrangi, Hasan Square, Jail Chowrangi, Numaish; Al-Asif square to Tower via Super Highway, Karimabad, Tin Hatti, Guru-mandar, Numaish.

In all, 55 luxury green buses would be plying on the three routes, the press release added.
