KUWAIT CITY, Dec 8: Kuwait has stopped issuance of visit visas to Pakistanis, Jordanians, Syrians, Iranians and Iraqis till the end of this month.

Arabic daily Al Anba, quoting sources in the immigration department said the ban on issuance of visit visas was to be implemented immediately and would be lifted by the beginning of 2004.

Sources said Kuwait had taken unprecedented security measures, including the ban on issuance of visit visas to some nationalities, for the Gulf Cooperation Council summit, scheduled on Dec 21.
