ISLAMABAD: A man who appeared to have been stoned to death was found in a rural part of the capital on Friday, police said.
Passersby found the body near a road at Haji Camp, and informed the police. The police then shifted the body to the hospital for legal processes, and the identification of the man is still pending.
Police said the man appeared to have been stoned to death, and his head and face were disfigured due to the attack.
Preliminary evidence suggested that the man was murdered elsewhere and his body was moved to the location where it was found, police added. They said the spot where the body was found had been searched, but nothing was found there that identified the victim.
They said fingerprints were taken and the National Database and Registration Authority was approached to identify the victim.
