Major General Sarfaraz Sattar promoted to rank of Lieutenant General

RAWALPINDI:Major General Sarfraz Sattar has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General, the Inter Services Public Relations said in a press release Friday.

In 2013, the major general was appointed Director General of Military Intelligence (DG MI) by former Army Chief Ashfaque Kayani, replacing Major General Naushad Kayani.

Later, in 2015, Major General Sarfaraz Sattar was transferred to Sialkot as General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 8th Infantry Division, which is his present rank. In his place, Major General Nadeem Zaki Manj assumed charge of the office of DGMI.

Major General Sarfraz Sattar was commissioned in armoured corps in 1984. He has also served as defense attache in India.
