PESHAWAR, Dec 8: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has expressed concern over the changes made in the audited record of the Khyber Teaching Hospital and termed it illegal.

According to an official press release issued here on Monday, the PAC discussed different aspects of the embezzlement in KTH accounts.

The health department maintained that a cashier of the hospital was responsible for the misappropriation of hospital funds, and that he had been penalized for it.

The members of the committee were of the view that a cashier level employee alone could not be involved in massive misappropriation of funds of the public-sector hospital.

The committee also showed concern over the changes made in the audited record.

The members of the committee including Shehzada Mohammad Gustasip Khan, Abdul Akbar Khan, Anwar Kamal Khan Marwat, Jamseed Khan, Pir Mohammad Khan and Bakht Jehan Khan discussed other irregularities committed in the KTH and Lady Reading Hospital.

They also talked about the fake bills of repairs of the hospital presented by the LRH and summoned engineers involved in the work to investigate the matter.
