KARACHI: All Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flights to and from Gilgit and Skardu on Tuesday (Sept 27) have been cancelled due to the airspace restrictions in the northern areas, said the airline’s spokesperson, Danyal Gilani, on Monday.

He added that the PIA call centre would inform passengers about the cancellation by calling and sending text messages to the numbers provided at the time of the booking.

This is the fourth time in a week that the northern areas airspace has remained closed — on Wednesday, Monday and Sunday, the airspace had been shut down by the Civil Aviation Authority.

No reasons have been given for the closure.
