KARACHI: The Shia Ulema Council (SUC) Sindh chapter has demanded that the government exempt Majlis-i-Aza and Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) from the loudspeaker act and withdraw FIRs registered for holding Majlis-i-Aza. The SUC warned that if these demands were not met before Muharram, after Ashur they would launch a ‘Jail Bharo Tehreek’.

This demand was made by SUC Sindh President Allama Syed Nazir Abbas Taqvi while addressing a Tahaffuz-i-Aza conference at the Nishtar Park on Saturday.

Allama Taqvi further said that arrangements for arrests were complete which would conclude on encircling the Sindh chief minister.

Millat-i-Jafria chief Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi in his telephonic address to the conference condemned Indian oppression in Kashmir and expressed solidarity with the people of Kashmir.

He termed the Azadari and Majlis-i-Aza as civil liberties, and that no law could stop them. Allama Sajid Naqvi also demanded the government ensure security and facilities to Zaireen in Quetta on their route.
