LAHORE: Lahore High Court Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah left Lahore for the Philippines on a six-day official tour on Saturday.

Justice Shahid Hameed Dar, the puisne judge, would be the acting chief justice till Sept 30, said the LHC assistant registrar (media).

Justice Muhammad Yawar Ali would administer oath to Justice Dar at a ceremony, being held on the LHC premises for the first time, on Monday (tomorrow) at 9am.

Before leaving abroad, Justice Shah attended a ceremony arranged in the honour of Justice Mahmood Maqbool Bajwa who attained superannuation on Saturday.

Justice Bajwa had joined the LHC on May 12, 2011.

CJ Shah and Puisne Judge Justice Shahid Hameed Dar presented a souvenir and a bouquet to Justice Bajwa at the formal send-off ceremony attended by LHC officers and staff.
