KARACHI: The tension triggered between Pakistan and India by the Sept 18 attack on the Uri military base got its first victim on Friday when a trade fair — Aalishan Pakistan — which was scheduled to be held in India was cancelled.

In a brief announcement, the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) said the fair aimed at showcasing Pakistani goods in India in September/October had been cancelled.

“Due to current situation between Pakistan and India which is beyond TDAP’s control, the event planned for 2016 has been called off,” it said.

The TDAP held first edition of the event in 2012 and second in 2014, says the announcement.
