LAHORE: Pass percentage of the intermediate (part-I & II) Annual Examination-2016 remained 60.85 per cent, according to results declared by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Lahore.

According to the BISE, 152,692 candidates submitted admission forms and 149,276 appeared in the exams. “90,827 candidates passed the exam, setting a percentage of 60.85,” it says.

While discussing group-wise percentage, of total 6,570 regular and private male candidates in pre-medical group, 5,155 passed, setting a percentage of 78.80.

In the same group, out of total 18,196 girl candidates, 15,721 passed, making percentage of 86.40.

In pre-engineering group, total 19,279 (male and female) candidates appeared for the exam, out of which 14,904 passed it, setting a percentage of 77.31.

In General Science, Commerce, Humanities and other groups, the percentage remained 57.32, 67.35 and 60.85, respectively.

honoured: Provincial Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan has said Punjab government is taking revolutionary measures for promotion of education in the province.

He claimed that for the first time 400 per cent more funds had been allocated in the fiscal year budget 2016-17 than 2007-08.

The minister gave laptops, certificates, medals and cash prizes to the position-holder boy and girls.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif congratulated the position holders.
