QUETTA: The chief ministers of Sindh and Balochistan have agreed to wipe out terrorism and anti-peace elements and increase contact with each other for the maintenance of law and order in their provinces.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah telephoned Balochistan CM Nawab Sanaullah Zehri on Friday and the two leaders decided to evolve a joint strategy in this regard. They discussed in detail the issue of law and order and ways and means to tackle it.

Police of both the provinces, they said, would work in close contact with each other and a joint checking and monitoring system would be evolved on the borders of the two provinces to impede the movement of terrorists and anti-state elements.

The chief ministers pledged to keep their provinces free of terrorists.

Nawab Zehri informed Mr Shah of the measures the Balochistan government had taken to get rid of terrorism and extremism. “Our security forces, including the Frontier Corps, Levies and police, are fighting terrorism by risking their lives,” he said.
