LAHORE: The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) has taken notice against two television channels for airing ‘provocative’ content against the Ahmadi community.

The media regulator took the notice on complaints filed by the president of Anjuman Ahmadia Pakistan as well as a large number of other people against the provocative content aired in Neo TV’s Harf-i-Raz and Channel 92’s Subha-i-Noor shows, says a press release issued by Pemra.

Though Pemra, according to sources in the two TV channels, has not issued any notice to them, it has forwarded the complaints to the Council of Complaints, Lahore, for further action.

According to Pemra laws, the news release says, hearing opportunities will be provided to both the channels and the complainants before taking any decision.
