TOBA TEK SINGH, Dec 6: A case was registered against an ASI on Saturday on the charges of amassing wealth beyond known sources of his income.

A resident of Kamalia sent a written application to the and Faisalabad anti-corruption director against Ghulam Muhammad giving some proofs of the police official’s corruption. The director deputed assistant director Rana Ayaz Aslam as inquiry officer who found the charges true.

Meanwhile, a case was registered against a population welfare department lower division clerk Syed Zahid Husain and a lady doctor on the fraud charge.

An inquiry was held against Zahid for drawing cash from a bank in connivance with Dr Farkhanda and misappropriating it. They allegedly tampered with the department’s record.

The director, in the meantime, also ordered an inquiry against Bhaghat sub-division irrigation SDO Muhammad Akram on the complaint of a farmer of Chak 348 GB Bajra who alleged that the official received Rs10,000 bribe from him for approving a water outlet.
