PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has begun mobilising its workers to counter the PTI’s Sept 24 plan to march on Raiwind, the mansion of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, by blocking the rallies of Imran Khan’s party in the province.

This was disclosed by PML-N provincial vice president Ikhtiar Wali Khan during a news conference at the Peshawar Press Club on Wednesday.

Flanked by party’s Peshawar city district president Malik Adeel Awan, Mr Ikhtiar Wali Khan said the party had formed the ‘Mujahid Force’ to block the PTI’s Sept 24 processions across the province if Imran Khan tried to march on Raiwind.

“I suggest Imran Khan to withdraw the call for Raiwind march otherwise our workers will respond to his plan,” he said.

The PML-N leader said the PTI chief had opted for political agitation for ‘lust of power’ and used the ‘Panama Leaks’ for Raiwind march.

“We (PML-N workers) won’t let him (Imran) go to the prime minister’s house,” he said.

Mr. Ikhtiar warned PML-N workers would render ‘all kinds of sacrifices’ for the protection of Raiwind against the PTI march if security forces took action against the ‘Mujahid Force’.

He said the party’s provincial chapter would decide its course of action against PTI’s Raiwind march on the second day of Eidul Azha.

The PML-N leader said his party wasn’t opposed to Imran Khan’s democratic right to record protest against the federal government but couldn’t allow him to march on Raiwind, the house of the prime minister.

“Politicians shouldn’t breach each other’s privacy and follow ethical principles,” he said.

SEHAT KA INSAF FLAYED: PML-N provincial information secretary Nasir Khan Musazai on Wednesday flayed the provincial government’s Sehat Ka Insaf programme declaring it a ‘joke with the poor people’.

In a statement issued here, Mr. Musazai said various insurance companies had already been offering the facilities announced under the Sehat Ka Insaf programme of late.

He said if the government was really sincere about the people’s welfare, it should also announce financial support for the families in case of the deaths of their members.

The PML-N leader complained taxpayers’ money as lavishly spent on the programme in an act of sheer injustice with the poor province.

“Instead of issuing the Sehat Ka Insaf cards to the people, the government should focus its attention on the improvement of its hospitals in the province. That will really benefit the common man,” he said.
