PUTD win

LAHORE, Dec 5: Punjab University Teaching Department (PUTD) won  the  university’s Inter-collegiate  badminton  championship beating defending champion Jamia Nusrat Chenabnagar 3-1 at New Campus on Friday.

Saadia Irshad gave the winners 1-0 lead defeating Asifa  11- 2, 11-1 in the first singles.

Jamia Nusrat’s Farhat Hayat neutralised the score 1-1  when she won against Isma Rabbani 11-6, 11-6.

The winners again gained the lead 2-1 by winning the doubles.

Saadia and Shagufta beat  Asifa-Farhat 15-3, 15-2.

Saadia, who played superbly for the winners  eventually won the reverse singles thrashing Farhat 11-2, 11-1 to  complete the win.
