HYDERABAD, Dec 3: Rallies were held by various social welfare organizations, NGOs and government departments here on Wednesday to mark the “Special Persons Day”.

A big rally was taken out from the district council building under the leadership of the district Nazim, Dr Makhdoom Rafiquzzaman, and the DCO, Hyderabad, Mohammad Hussain Syed. It terminated at the local press club.

Activists of the Tanzeem Khadam-e-Insaniyat, Women Rights Welfare Association, New Generation Welfare Association, Sindh Education Welfare Society, Special Friends of Special Children, and other organizations took out rallies.

Hundreds of school children and women also participated in them.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Makhdoom said that two per cent employment quota had been reserved for special persons.

He said he would submit a summary regarding it to the provincial government.

He said sports competitions will be organized for special persons and they will be provided all recreational facilities.
