Constable injured in encounter

TOBA TEK SINGH, Dec 1: A constable was injured seriously on Monday in an encounter with an alleged dacoit at Gojra railway station.

Acting on a tip-off that accused Azam of Chak 315-JB, Kala Pahar, would come to the railway station, the Gojra police raided there to apprehend him. Seeing the police, the accused opened fire on them after taking a shelter, injuring constable Muhammad Afzal. The police also returned the fire, but the accused managed to escape. The injured constable was admitted to the local DHQ Hospital in critical condition.

STRIKE: The local district bar association (DBA) observed a complete strike on Monday to condemn the murder of Jhang civil judge Chaudhry Mushtaq Ahmad.

The DBA also held a meeting in which fateha was offered for the late judge.
