Published December 31, 2001

GILGIT, Dec 30: Journalists in Gilgit and Baltistan have called upon the Northern Areas force commander to set up Inter Services Public Relations offices in Gilgit and Skardu so that they could coordinate with military spokesmen over the matters concerning the situation in the border areas.

They said that the Gilgit Union of Journalists and Baltistan Union of Journalists had repeatedly requested that ISPR offices should be set up in Gilgit and Skardu but the request was not entertained. They said that it was important to establish liaison between the military authorities and the press in Northern Areas.
