NEW DELHI, Nov 28: The G20 group of industrialized nations will try to find ways to revive stalled World Trade Organization (WTO) talks at a meeting next month with the European Union Trade Commissioner, an Indian official said on Friday.
S.N. Menon from India’s commerce ministry told an EU-India business meeting that the G20 grouping, which includes India, and the European Union Trade Commissioner Pascal Lamy would hold talks in Brazil on December 12.
“There would be a meeting between the G20 and EU Commissioner Lamy. We believe in positive engagement and deadlocks have to be broken,” said Mr Menon.
“A meeting has been scheduled on December 12 at Brasilia of the G20 where there will be separate meetings with the director general of WTO Supachai Panitchpakdi,” he added.
