KARACHI: Omar Associates lifted the winner’s trophy of Brighto Paints 5thCorporate Trophy T20 Cup when they defeated K-Electric by three wickets in an exciting final here at the DHA Sports Stadium, Moin Khan Academy on Saturday.

Batting first, K-Electric scored 127-8 in the allotted 20 overs. Fazal Subhan (39) played a fine knock with the help of two sixes and four boundaries off just in 31 balls. He was well supported by Yasir Hameed (18), Naveed Javed (18) and Khushdil Shah (18).

For Omar Associates, Danish Aziz bagged 2-24 and Anwar Ali took 2-37.

In reply, Omar Associates reached the target in the 19th over after losing seven wickets. Danish Aziz, putting up an all-round show, also excelled with the bat to score a dazzling 57 not out with two sixes and four boundaries off 47 balls.

Azam Khan (22) and Anwar Ali (16) also chipped in during the late overs.

Danish was declared man-of-the-match and received his award from Administrator DHA Brig Mohammad Zubair who was chief guest on the occasion.

Anwer Ali, skipper of Omar Associates received the winner’s trophy and a cash award of Rs700,000 while Jawed Mansoor captain of K-Electric got the runner-up trophy and cash award of Rs350,000.
