QUETTA: Gunmen on a motorcycle killed four paramilitary soldiers here on Wednesday, a day after four policemen were killed, officials said.

The attackers targeted a paramilitary patrol vehicle in Quetta and fled after the shooting, authorities said.

“Four paramilitary soldiers were martyred and two other soldiers and a civilian were wounded in the firing by unknown gunmen on motorcycle,” Frontier Corps spokesman Khan Wasay said.

Home Secretary Akbar Harifal confirmed the incident.

On Tuesday, four policemen were killed in two attacks in the city.

Saleem Shahid adds: “It was a case of targeted killings,” a senior security official said, adding that security forces launched an operation to trace the attackers.

The deceased personnel were identified as Hawaldar Tanveer Ahmed, Muhammad Sharif, Attiq Ahmed and Awal Daraz.
