TAXILA: Two people were killed and another injured in separate incidents in Taxila and Wah on Sunday.

In one incident, a 16-year-old riding a motorcycle died after he was hit by a speeding dumper on the GT Road near the local technical college. Police sources said the deceased, Nagam Asghar, was riding his motorcycle when a recklessly driven dumper hit him, killing him on the spot. The driver of the dumper managed to flee.

Separately, the body of a man in his 50s was found near Taxila Chowk. Police investigators have suggested that the man was a drug addict and died due to withdrawal.

A man, identified as Yasir Nawaz, was shot during an attempted robbery in the Saadat Colony area, within the limits of the Wah Saddar police station. According to family members, two robbers scaled the wall of the victim’s house around midnight.

The victim was awake and attempted to overpower the robbers, who shot him and fled.
