IN his recent speech in the National Assembly, Foreign Affairs Advisor to Prime Minister Sartaj Aziz claimed that a former Pakistani ambassador to the US is lobbying against Pakistan. It is deeply worrying to consider the fact that an individual is able to stymie government’s efforts to pursue its foreign policy.

Mr Aziz’s statement is an admission of the failure of Pakistan’s foreign policy vis-à-vis the US. Instead of presenting itself as a victim, the government needs to take appropriate measures to improve its foreign policy.
